Evolving Patterns: Correlated Systems of Interaction

Phyllotaxis is the pattern resulting from the optimized distribution of leaves, scales, or seeds in vegetables, such as the organization of seeds in a sunflower. This pattern is intrinsically connected with the Fibonacci sequence and ensures, for example, that a plant's set of leaves receives the greatest amount of sun possible. In architecture, it can guide the informed arrangement of solar panels, for example.
